Mission
Care Venezuela provides support to the most vulnerable communities in Venezuela by providing basic supplies.
We aim to improve well-being and dignity in communities where the access to essentials, such as, medicines, food, medical supplies, hygiene products, among others, is limited or simply absent as a result of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the country.

Our Team
Patricia Araujo
Patricia Araujo is a Venezuelan economist with a master’s degree in Public Relations and Communications, as well as a dynamic entrepreneur with a rising career in the banking and manufacturing sectors. Since moving to the UK in 2014, she has remained deeply committed to supporting social causes in Venezuela.
In 2017, alongside fellow Venezuelan women, Patricia helped establish the UK representation of the Programa de Ayuda Humanitaria para Venezuela, providing essential assistance to those in need. Patricia has also co-founded Care Venezuela, where she leads Public Relations efforts to amplify the organization’s impact.
Beyond her professional and philanthropic work, Patricia is a proud mother of three, balancing her career and advocacy with her dedication to family.
Karla Hernandez
Karla was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela and since she left her beloved country she has been a successful Business Consultant in Barcelona and Manchester for more than 16 years. Always passionate about the idea of helping those in need in Venezuela, she began her charity activities through her small business Venezuelan House and supporting The Humanitarian Aid Program for Venezuela -PAHPV since 2017. Now as a trustee of Care Venezuela, she is in charge of the finance and charity development of the organisation.
Irene Carolina Guevara García
Irene Carolina Guevara (Carola) was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, were also graduated as a Physiotherapist. Carola came to live in the UK in 2006 and worked for 7 years as part of a charity, the International Society, organising events, helping international students to settle in Manchester.
Carola, currently works as a Physiotherapist in the NHS, she enjoys helping people and has joined this wonderful team in 2018 in the middle of the desperation to do something for her Country, since, she has helped organising events and currently, she is trustee and event manager of “Care Venezuela”
Karmele Sagarzazu – Achurra
Karmele Sagarzazu-Achurra Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Karmele studied Chemical Engineering at the Metropolitan University before moving to the UK to complete a master’s in Refinery Design & Operations at the University of Manchester.
Currently, she works as a Production Manager at a fertilizer manufacturing site in North Wales. Beyond her professional career, Karmele is passionate about cooking, a passion that led her to establish Avila Kitchen, her own small business in Manchester.
Her commitment to helping others began in 2017, when she started supporting the Humanitarian Aid Program for Venezuela (PAHPV). This passion grew into co-founding Care Venezuela, where she contributes to the programmes, website development, and organizational management. She also supports the board as a Governance & administrative Trustee, helping to guide the charity’s compliance, financial and regulatory responsibilities, and strengthening its long-term impact.
María Alexandra Barrios
Maria was born in San Cristobal, passionate number, she has a Master’s degree in Finance from Shandong University, China. She worked on projects involving equity research, valuation modelling, risk assessment, and strategic financial planning.
Currently, she is involved in the administrative operations of the Black Sheep Coffee franchise on Manchester Market Street.Over the years, Maria has helped small care homes in the city when she was born. She has joined the Care Venezuela team since 2023.
Helena Diez y Riega
Helena is from Merida, a beautiful city in the Venezuelan Andes. Scientist with multinational experience for more than 25 years. She is an advocate for the defence of human rights in her native country where there is a complex humanitarian crisis. She has collaborated with several humanitarian aid organisations and small groups against domestic violence, migrant refugees under harsh conditions, and STEM education for youth in financial need in the USA, Spain, and Germany. She moved to England by the end of 2016 and a few months after started the UK representation of Program Human Aid for Venezuela together with some other venezuelan friends.

Our story
We are a group of Venezuelans volunteers living in the UK. In 2017, worried about the humanitarian crisis that has severely affected the quality of life of an entire nation, we decided to join forces with one of our allies “Programa de Ayuda Humanitaria para Venezuela” (PAHPV) and help . We have managed to send basic supplies to Venezuela, providing support to reliable NGOs and non-profit organisations in 17 cities across the country.
Throughout the time, we have built a trustable reputation within a great community that supports us either in Venezuela and the UK and they have been generously committed to our cause. They help unconditionally when we plan our fundraising campaigns, with logistics and to send and distribute donations to the local communities in Venezuela.
In 2021, we decided to formalise our voluntary group and became a UK registered Charity, Care Venezuela.
